Alex Armstrong is a professional big mountain skier based out of Squamish, British Columbia on the unceded ancestral territories of the Lil’Wat and Squamish Nations. As an ex-ski racer from Ottawa, Ontario and ex-ski patroller, she combines her technical skiing skills and mountain sense to reach the high mountain peaks of Western Canada and shred them on the way down.
Army’s go-to skis for big mountain skiing are the RMU North Shore 114s because the flat tail adds stability, and the sidecut allows for playful pivots throughout big lines. Her everyday drivers are the Apostle 106s as they’ve got a traditional sidecut and flatter tail that mesh well with her powerful style.
After self-producing the Skier Rich series and receiving a nomination for Female Performance of the Year at iF3 in 2021, Army joined the ranks of Blank Collective this winter. She’ll be starring in Blank’s latest film which will be released in Fall 2022. Her plans next winter are to keep the momentum going by smashing pillows, charging big lines and having fun skiing pow with her friends.
