When we planned to open our first retail location, the vision of a hustling bar was not necessarily at the forefront. What began with selling skis and drinking beers with new and old friends has become a concept worthy of explanation.
We used to make skis for the cost of materials and a 30 pack of beer. Once we began full production and renting out retail areas for a few years, we decided to do it ourselves and open up a shop. What we stumbled upon was a prime opportunity and with the help of new friends across Summit County, we had a few extra minds to build a ski shop and bar all in one.
We won't claim it was planned far in advance, just enough to see the potential of what we were creating. Appropriately named "Concept Locations" for its unique idea of immersing multiple aspects of a skiers life, a store that represented more than just the products it sold. The environment began hosting the town's culture, growing more than we could have dreamed.
Now, these Community Locations are continuously evolving in each town, hosting various parts we believe encompass Mountain Culture. These community-driven and outdoor orientated lifestyles share similarities across landscapes, but remain unique in each location and are worth celebrating.
Each RMU Community Location is a hub for the local region. Each region is unique, and the stores only portray a fraction of the cultures around. As a welcoming environment for any who wish to embrace it, our stores host cocktails, food, drinks and services. Along with community events, fundraisers and RMU's products and outdoor equipment.
From skis to après, bike rides and local music, RMU's Community Locations has a bit of everything. Come Say Hello.
