Driven by our passion for ski innovation, Wiley Miller challenged us to create the ultimate ski for low-speed, low-angle powder conditions. Enter the Butterknife—a ski that captures the essence of surfing while keeping two planks on your feet. Inspired by the swallowtail designs of surfboards and snowboards, this ski draws from Wiley's experiences riding swallowtails in Montana's deep powder and the waves of Baja, Mexico.

The Butterknife boasts extreme width, providing nearly the same surface area as the YLE 118 Limited model at 188cm, ensuring maximum flotation in deep snow. Its longer low-rise rocker and unique shape allow for effortless floating in low-angle terrain, while the shorter 176cm length and large swallowtail facilitate quick, sharp turns in tight tree runs. It's everything a powder enthusiast dreams of.

Even on deep days at the resort, the Butterknife maintains camber underfoot for grip and stability, ensuring smooth transitions between each fresh turn. This ski is the perfect blend of surf-inspired design and powder performance.

Every RMU ski is handmade in our high quality ski factory in Åre, Sweden using 100% renewable energy.  The quality of our manufacturing allows us to offer a full warranty for the lifetime of the ski.

Handcrafted and Built To Last A Lifetime. We always prioritise building the highest products available, and that is why we honor a lifetime warranty on manufacturer defects for all RMU gear.
